Hi everyone! Its been quite a while since I last open up on things.
Nearly 2 months since the last journal.
Been doing quite well lately. A bit worried the pacing will pick up in the next few weeks. So I'm hoping to get things done as much as I can.
So here is what has been bugging me for the past few days. Sometimes I need references if I were to work on an illustration. I go on Pixiv, type in the character or series, search, and look at some. But lately it seems as if there is little to no fanwork on some characters of a series I adore. Now I understand that not all characters are popular, heck not all of them even have a Wikia entry. But giving them the cold shoulder in artwork? Why? Why leave them in the dark? Give them a chance to present themselves for the fans to see. Concept arts only present an idea, not the final character. Promotional artwork only show their exterior image, not their inner character. Fans are curious about them, so why not tell us their story through image?
Its up to fan artists and writers to pick up the pieces and decipher the riddle and mystery. While its easy to simply give the most popular characters their adoration. There are many others waiting for a chance to show their character. I hope in the near future one artist will look back at these disappearing characters and give them a chance.
